Where would Batman be without Robin? After all, they are the Dynamic Duo.

Why not get your own superhero sidekick to help you bash the blues and fight the fat during the holidays?

You’re not the only person who experiencing stress, anxiety and weakened willpower during the holidays.

Seeing the end of one year and the beginning of another often leads to excuse -making where exercise and diet are concerned. That’s why you need a Robin to your Batman, (or a Batman to your Robin, if that suits you).

Talk to your best friend. Have a conversation with that super-fit coworker you admire. If you know someone who’s a rock emotionally, always on an even keel, get them involved in your holiday plans.

You can also do the opposite.

If you see someone suffering from holiday depression or anxiety, give them a mental boost. Maybe a friend has been faltering on her diet thanks to holiday temptations. Helping someone else stay on track mentally and physically during the holidays can help you stick to your goals as well.

The Mayo Clinic reports that “feelings of loneliness” are a major contributor to depression during the holidays. You get a case of the “Holiday Blues”, so you skip the workout and attack the dessert table with a vengeance.

You become frustrated that you took a step backwards nutritionally, and you feel even worse. This exercise-free, poor-diet approach to the holidays begins to feed on itself (pun intended).

Partner up for a smart approach to a sane and fit holiday celebration.

I know I don’t have to tell you by now that poor diet, no exercise, and excessive stress will increase your risk of stroke. That’s not what we want, is it?

Every day…..Say NO To Stroke!
