Sugar Pouring On Spoon

In our last blog post, dear readers, you learned that the sugar industry bribed Harvard nutrition researchers. Their final published article recommended that the best way to prevent heart disease was to reduce cholesterol and saturated fat. The sugar dangers were not mentioned. (If you missed part 1, you can read it here.)

What happened next?

During the 1970s the sugar industry continued their underhanded ways. They put forth the lie, in commercials, ads, etc, that sugar would suppress your appetite, thereby helping you lose weight. Do you believe that sugar can help you undereat? Did you believe it back then?

That’s the bill of goods that they sold, and we bought. All of this misinformation made it very unclear how much sugar was “safe” to eat. And the American Heart Association, based on the published science article, said you could add sugar to a healthy diet.

So what did we do?

We followed the recommendations and ate low fat, high sugar diets.

We increased our sugar consumption 30%.

We became overweight, fat, obese!

It’s time to do something about that if YOU want to Say NO To Stroke!
