Say NO To Stroke!
Do YOU WANT a
BETTER MEMORY, and
IMPROVED FOCUS and CONCENTRATION?
Do You Ever Feel Like Your Brain Is In A Fog?
Do you find yourself...
Hi, I'm Dr. Fraser. Is your memory getting worse? Are you afraid of developing Alzheimer's?
If Any Of Those Things Has Been Happening To You, Keep This In Mind:
You're Not The Only One!
If you sometimes feel like your brain is in a fog, guess what?
We have all had those moments.
I had a few moments like that several years ago.
Do you feel like you're getting worse?
Are you frustrated?
Do you know anyone with Alzheimer's?
I do, and I'll do whatever I can to avoid it!
How about you?
Have you had a STROKE?
Do you know someone who's had one?
Well, I haven't had a stroke. But I've taken care of A LOT of people who have.
I still do.
Some strokes are mild and people fully recover.
Others are devastating.
Sometimes I have to do surgery.
There are cases where even surgery doesn't help.
People lose their independence
They have to spend the rest of their lives in nursing homes.
Even worse, some people die.
Wouldn't you like to know how to avoid that?
I WANT TO KEEP YOU OUT OF MY OPERATING ROOM!
I Used To Put ALL My Energy Into Treating Stroke Patients.
Now don't get me wrong...
I still do EVERYTHING I can to help my patients recover as much function as possible.
But, I realized that it would be a whole lot better to teach people how to avoid a stroke in the first place.
Because when you lose BRAIN CELLS, you don't get them back.
So I began to concentrate on the things people could do every day to avoid stroke.
And guess what?
Do those things and YOU will reduce your risk of stroke AND dementia, including Alzheimer's
There are 10 Steps.
Read about them here...and download a copy.
Your goal should be to incorporate those 10 Steps into your daily life.
For some of you, that list will be all you need.
But, let's face it.
Many people will find that it's not that easy.
If it were, everyone would already be following these 10 Steps, right?
And the rates of stroke, and of people developing Alzheimer's, would be much lower.
But they're not.
You may look at my 10 Steps and think some are just common sense.
Yes, some are, but you may not realize just how important they are to the health of your brain.
So you may not be paying them any mind.
Do You Know What the #1 Risk Factor is for STROKE?
If not, how will you avoid one?
Would it Surprise You to Learn That
80% of Strokes are Preventable?
Yes, you read that right... 80%!
And did you know that the same 10 Steps that will reduce your risk of stroke will also make you less likely to develop Alzheimer's disease?
One Labor Day a few years ago while many of you were barbecuing, I was in the operating room removing a large blood clot, (a hemorrhagic stroke), from someone's brain. The patient was in her early 50s and overweight. Her family suspected that she had high blood pressure but she had not seen a doctor in decades. She arrived home with groceries and her daily pack of cigarettes. But, instead of firing up the grill she collapsed, suddenly unable to speak or move her right side. In the ambulance on the way to the emergency room she started to lose consciousness. A brain CT showed a large hemorrhage. I quickly took her to the operating room and removed this blood clot. Although she survived and woke up after the surgery, she has not been able to talk, or understand when others speak or write to her. Her right side is very weak.
Why did this have to happen? Everyone and every body is different. Each set of circumstances is unique but there are certain factors that contributed to my patient's bleed. Significant overweight. High blood pressure. Smoking. Never seeing a doctor. Don't let this happen to YOU!
Our brain is connected to the rest of our body. The food we eat is absorbed and travels through the bloodstream. Our hearts pump 4.5 to 5 liters of blood each minute. (Think 2 1/2 of those 2 liter Coke bottles.) Blood is what carries needed oxygen and glucose to our brain and other important organs. The same blood carries waste and toxins away. If an artery carrying oxygen and glucose to your brain suddenly becomes clogged and the flow stops -- STROKE! If a blood vessel in your brain suddenly ruptures -- STROKE!
By this time next year about 15 million people worldwide will have suffered a stroke.
795,000 of them will be in the United States, one person every 40 seconds.
140,000 of them will die.
About 650,000 Europeans will have strokes.
You don't want to be one of those people!
And What About Alzheimer's?
Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia. More than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease. Someone in the United States develops Alzheimer's every 66 seconds.
Since the year 2000 deaths due to Alzheimer's have increased 89%.
And by 2050 as many as 16 million Americans may have Alzheimer's.
Don't you want to do everything possible to reduce your risk?
Don't you want to...
...stay in your own home?
...remain able to care for your loved ones?
Step #1 Toward Reducing Your Risk of Stroke and Alzheimer's Disease
If you downloaded a copy of my 10 Steps you'll know that Step #1 is to eat a brain healthy diet. That makes sense, right? We really are what we eat. We shouldn't eat junk. Your brain works better if you provide it with the proper fuel and nutrients, the building blocks it needs to make and maintain nerve cells and other supporting tissues.
Don't You Want A Better Memory,
Improved Focus And Concentration?
You could figure this all out for yourself.
Do the research.
Google all of this.
Use trial and error to find what works and what doesn't.
How much of this should you do?
How much of that is necessary?
Or you could take advantage of the fact that I've already done those things.
I have a degree in biology from Harvard.
I went to medical school and then completed a neurosurgery residency program.
I've practiced neurosurgery for more than 22 years.
I know what has worked for my patients.
(And just as important -- I know the things they tried that didn't work.)
I know the things I've tried myself.
Because I am always looking for ways to make my body and brain more fit.
No one knows everything.
And I don't claim to, but I do know quite a bit about this stuff.
You Can Start Experiencing
Better Brain Function
What's better than spending a lot of time researching?
